Why I write a blog as a finance broker?

The Why

Hey, glad you’re here.

If you’ve landed on this page, you’re probably somewhere on the journey to buying your first home or thinking what your next move after your 1st owner occupied home or maybe you are looking for a business loan but not sure where to start.

Either way, this blog is for you.

Let me tell you why I started writing it.

I got tired of watching people looking at various places for the answer.

I’ve been a finance broker for a while now, and the thing that gets me every single time is how much confusion surrounds one of the biggest financial decisions most people will ever make.

Not because buying a home is impossibly complicated. But because nobody ever explained it properly and thoroughly.

I’ve sat across some smart, capable people who had no idea they could buy sooner than they thought. I’ve seen others spend months searching in the wrong price range because they guessed their borrowing power instead of actually checking it. I’ve watched people miss out on government grants worth tens of thousands of dollars — not because they didn’t qualify, but because they didn’t know the grants existed.

That stuff keeps me up at night, honestly.

So why a blog?

Because a 30-minute discovery call can only reach so many people. A blog can reach anyone.

My goal here is simple: cut through the noise and give you the real, straight-talking information that helps you make better decisions — whether you work with me or not.

No jargon. No sales pitch disguised as advice. Just the stuff I’d tell a mate over a coffee.

I’ll cover things like how lenders actually assess you (it’s not just about your salary), what first home buyer schemes are available right now and whether you qualify, the mistakes I see buyers make over and over again, and how to work out if you’re actually closer to ready than you think.

And yes, I’m a broker — here’s my honest take on that

I won’t pretend there’s no business angle here. If you read this, find it useful, and eventually want help navigating your mortgage — I’d love to work with you. That’s how this works.

But the content stands on its own. If you get everything you need to go it alone, that’s a win too.

That’s the deal.
